The robotics club is open to all students and meets weekly in room 3107. Club members use Lego Mindstorms pieces to construct and program robots to perform tasks autonomously. Students learn to use gear combinations to optimize the efficiency of their robots. We use Robolab software to program the RCX or the NXT brick. Robolab's con-based programming language is sufficiently intuitive for primary school students and sophisticated enough to challenge college students or engineers designing prototypes.

Sensors, such as light, touch, sound, distance, compass, temperature, pH, etc. when strategically attached to the RCX or NXT, can be used for datalogging in science projects. In addition to the joys of learning and the rewards of creativity, students may also use their projects to participate in local, national and international competitions.

Since this year's club is composed mainly of junior students, we are currently in a rebuilding mode.
