2011 SECONDARY 3 OPTION COURSES

Entrepreneurship:

This course is designed to help prepare students for the realities of the modern world. The challenging marketplace has resulted in profound changes in the role of workers, who are now required to play an active role in the organizations that employ them. This course gives students the opportunity to develop their own entrepreneurial spirit by taking innovative action and becoming involved in their community. Students will learn how to create a product, service, and event using advertising, marketing strategies and sales. (4 credits)

Media Arts:

This course allows students to discover the use of modern media equipment. They learn how to integrate computer applications such as spreadsheets, drawing and painting with other media tools, such as digital and video cameras. (4 credits)

POP – Personal Orientation Project:

This course allows students to carry out a process of career exploration. It will help students develop strategies and processes that will allow them to learn more about their own interests, abilities, and learning styles. The goal of the POP program is to facilitate and guide students in their career exploration and decision-making processes. (4 credits)
